Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SponsorPal ("SponsorPal," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the SponsorPal website and application. We believe in being transparent and direct about our data practices. We only collect what is necessary to run our service, and we do not sell your personal data or track you with advertising SDKs.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information directly from you when you use SponsorPal:

  • Account Information: The email address and name your Google, LinkedIn, or Apple account gives us when you sign in. SponsorPal does not offer an email-and-password sign-in. You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Onboarding Information: Answers provided during your initial setup, specifically your immigration status and need for visa sponsorship.
  • Resume Data: New uploads are Word files (.docx). We keep the file and the text we read from it, including your name, email address, phone number, skills, and work experience. A PDF already stored still opens. We keep a résumé until you remove it or you email us to delete your account.
  • Activity Data: Your job search activity on the platform, including jobs you have saved and applications you track.
  • Strategy Lab Content: Information generated or stored in our Strategy Lab feature, including AI-generated cover letters, recruiter messages, and follow-up emails.
  • Internal Analytics: Basic event data regarding how you use our features. We do not use any third-party advertising or analytics SDKs (such as Meta Pixel or Google Analytics) to track your behavior across the web.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect solely to operate, maintain, and improve SponsorPal. This includes:

  • Providing job matching and filtering based on your skills and sponsorship needs.
  • Using your resume text and target job descriptions to generate tailored cover letters and application materials via AI.
  • Keeping you signed in with a session cookie. We do not send password-reset email.
  • Understanding feature usage to improve the platform.

A Note on Employer Data: SponsorPal displays U.S. government-published visa sponsorship filing data (such as H-1B and PERM data) about employers. This is public information about companies, not personal data about you or any other user.

3. Third-Party Processors

To run SponsorPal effectively, we share necessary data with trusted third-party service providers. We only share the minimum amount of data required for them to perform their specific function:

  • OpenAI: We use OpenAI's models (gpt-4o-mini and text-embedding-3-small) to power the Strategy Lab and matching features. We send OpenAI the text from your uploaded resume and the text of the job descriptions you are targeting to generate tailored content and a keyword match.
  • Supabase: Used for securely hosting and managing our database.
  • Vercel: Used for hosting the website and the application.
  • Google, LinkedIn, and Apple: Used to sign you in. They tell us the email they have already verified.
  • Hunter.io: On Pro, recruiter and referrer lookups send a company domain and a job title to Hunter.io. Hunter returns work email addresses. We store those results and show the saved ones again, including to another signed-in person looking at the same company. Nothing is sent to those people.
  • Brandfetch: Used to display company logos on job listings. We only send Brandfetch the company's website domain; no user data is ever shared with this service.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use exactly one HttpOnly cookie. This cookie is strictly necessary to keep you securely logged into your account during your session.

  • We do not use any other tracking cookies.
  • We do not use marketing, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Your Data Rights

You have the right to access and delete the personal information we hold about you:

  • Requesting a Copy of Your Data: You can request a complete copy of your personal data by emailing our support team.
  • Account and Data Deletion: There is no delete button in Settings. Email manan.vashist@gmail.com to delete your account or to ask for a copy of your data.
